Joe Penney. Barry plays the multi-millionaire father of (?)(?). Mr. Penney gives Ellen (Ellen DeGeneres) a big loan as an indirect birthday gift for his daughter after Ellen tells him the bookstore has not been profitable lately and tries, without success, to tell him she'll have to fire his daughter! Things don't turn out as well as Ellen hoped when Mr. Penney, now feeling entitled to run the business, tries to "diversify" the bookstore by selling flip-flops, refrigerators, and making Ellen do "I'm crazy Ellen" TV-comercials!
