Mike Hadley. Barry plays a caring rancher who hates to see his widowed daughter-in-law Garnet Hadley (Penelope Ann Miller) being consumed by sadness and loneliness since the tragic death of his son, a rodeo champion. Mike insists she should find somebody new, but Garnet mistakenly thinking he's being selfish, hires Bryan (Brett Cullen) as an escort to make her father-in-law and the town believe she's finally got a new boyfriend. However, Mike suspects something is wrong so he decides to investigate Bryan's background.
